A Guide to BLECH India for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon: the rules that shape your stand
The BEC (NESCO) is Mumbai's principal venue — a multi-hall complex on the Western Express Highway with its own access and marshalling discipline. Hall heights and column grids vary by hall, so we design to the specific hall rather than a generic assumption.
Sheet-metal machinery is among the heaviest on any show floor, so floor loading is the first and most serious calculation: we plan machine positions, base plates and load spread to the venue's limits and coordinate the forklift and rigging for move-in. A live cutting or welding demo also needs substantial three-phase power against a declared load, fume or dust extraction, and — for laser machines — proper laser-safety enclosure and screening. Power is ordered through the official contractor ahead of the deadline; all materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in; finishing is completed off-site; and complex or two-storey structures need a structural-stability certificate from a licensed engineer.
The home-ground advantage is real: our workshop is minutes from the BEC, so there is no long road freight, crating is shorter, and we can react fast during build-up and set, level and commission a heavy machine carefully — a genuine cost and reliability edge when a machine has to cut accurately in front of buyers.
What a winning sheet-metal stand needs
The stands that win orders at BLECH India cut the part in front of the buyer. We design a stable, level, well-lit machine platform where a laser, press brake or welding cell can run safely — with the floor loading, three-phase power, extraction and laser-safety screening it needs — a display of finished sample parts that proves cut quality and accuracy, clear cycle-time and tooling-cost data, and a meeting area for the capital conversation.
The sample part is the argument on this floor, so we give it prominent, well-lit display beside the running machine, and keep the message specific — laser, punching, bending, welding, tube processing, tooling — because a job shop and an automotive OEM assess differently, and a demonstrable, part-backed proposition lands far harder than a general 'fabrication solutions' one.
Designing for fabricators, job shops and production engineers
Buyers walk BLECH India with capital-equipment decisions for real production, so the stand has to prove the machine and then talk numbers: a running cut, bend or weld, sample parts they can inspect, then a conversation about cycle time, accuracy, tooling cost, integration, service and payback. We design the path from the running machine to that conversation, because at a machine-tool show the cut part earns the meeting and the meeting earns the order.
We keep the message specific to your domain and part sizes, because a thin-sheet job shop and a heavy-plate fabricator want different proof, and a precise, quantified capability statement is found far faster than a general one.
What a BLECH India stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at BLECH India runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence, from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular build with a machine platform, sample display and a meeting area, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium raw-space or multi-machine build. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, delivery within Mumbai, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor space outside it.
What moves the number is heavy machine floor loading and rigging, a live cutting or welding demo with three-phase power, extraction and laser-safety screening, or a large multi-machine raw-space build. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out — and because this is our home venue, you also save the freight an out-of-Mumbai builder would add.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for tooling, consumable and software suppliers up to 100 m²-plus raw-space builds carrying multiple running machines for major manufacturers. The layout puts the running machine and its sample parts where the aisle sees it, keeps safe circulation, screening and extraction around operating equipment, and sets a meeting area slightly back and quiet enough to talk over machine noise. Corner and island positions help a working machine be seen and approached.
Whatever the size, we set and light the machine to show engineering quality and display the sample parts prominently, because on a fabrication floor the accuracy of the part and the presentation of the machine are how a technical buyer judges the engineering.
Getting into the BEC: build-up timing
The BEC runs a tight build-up and dock schedule, and power, extraction and handling book up early. We confirm your build slot, calculate and order three-phase power and extraction through the official contractor before the deadline, plan floor loading and the forklift and rigging schedule for heavy machine move-in, and — because we're local — schedule a short, reliable delivery so the stand lands and the machine is set, levelled, screened and commissioned in good time.
Being Mumbai-based, we can level and commission a heavy cutting machine carefully during build-up rather than against a long freight's clock — which matters when the machine must cut accurately from the first hour.
Reusing your stand between editions
Fabrication brands exhibit at BLECH India, IMTEX and the regional engineering circuit across the year, so a modular reusable stand designed around your machine footprints is strong value. We store the core in Mumbai, refresh graphics and sample-part display for each edition, and keep your power, extraction and handling orders on file — so the next show is a refresh and a re-set of the machines, not a rebuild.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- Under-planning floor loading or rigging for a machine that weighs several tonnes.
- A live cutting demo without extraction or laser-safety screening — a hazard and a compliance failure.
- No sample parts on a floor where cut quality and accuracy close the sale.
- A meeting area placed where machine noise makes the conversation impossible.
Getting Started
Send your stand size, your hall and stand number once the organiser has issued it, and a short note on what will physically happen on the stand. You get a 3D design and an itemised all-in quote, at no charge and with no obligation.
