A Guide to Indian Ceramics Asia for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at the Helipad Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar: the rules that shape your stand
The Helipad Exhibition Centre (HEC) in Gandhinagar is Gujarat's principal large-format venue, with built halls and structured space and its own access and marshalling discipline. The hall and position you're allocated shape the build, so we design to the specific space rather than a generic assumption.
Ceramic product is heavy — tiles, slabs and sanitaryware — so floor loading and safe mounting are planned in early, and large-format slab display needs proper support. Power is sanctioned through the official electrical contractor against a declared load (including any machinery demonstration), ordered ahead to avoid peak-build surcharges. All materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in, finishing is completed off-site, and two-storey builds need a structural-stability certificate from a licensed engineer.
Gandhinagar logistics are very manageable from our base: freight runs roughly 525 km by road from our Mumbai facility — one of the shorter legs on the India circuit — so crating and convoy timing are straightforward, and we schedule to land the stand inside its access window.
What a winning ceramics stand needs
The stands that win at Indian Ceramics Asia present the product or capability beautifully. For tile and sanitaryware brands, we design premium display — feature walls, slab displays, vignettes and full bathroom or surface settings — under lighting designed to show colour, finish and texture truthfully, because a ceramics audience judges the product by the surface in front of them. For machinery and materials brands, we design clean equipment display with clear capability messaging and a demonstration where useful.
Lighting and presentation do a disproportionate amount of the work for surface products, so we design the scheme around how the product should read; and we keep a sample and specification area where a distributor, architect or builder can examine finishes and talk ranges, sizes and supply.
Designing for distributors, project buyers and manufacturers
Buyers walk Indian Ceramics Asia with sourcing lists, project specifications and capacity or technology needs, so the stand has to qualify them fast and then talk specifics: a clear product or capability message, display they can examine, then a seated conversation about ranges, finishes, sizes, capacity, price and lead time. We design the path from the display to that conversation, because at a sourcing show the product and the capability earn the meeting and the meeting earns the order.
We keep the message specific to your segment — tiles, sanitaryware, slabs, raw materials, glazes, machinery — because a tile distributor and a machinery buyer want different proof, and a precise product-and-capacity statement is found far faster than a general 'ceramics' one.
What an Indian Ceramics Asia stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at Indian Ceramics Asia runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence, from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular build with premium product display and a specification area, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium island, double-deck or heavy-machinery build. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, road freight to Gandhinagar, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor rental outside it.
What moves the number is elaborate tile or slab display and feature settings, heavy product floor loading, a machinery demonstration, or a double-deck lounge. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out — and because the Gandhinagar freight leg is short, the logistics line on a Gujarat build is lighter than on an NCR one.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for raw-material, glaze and component suppliers to 100 m²-plus islands and double-deckers for major tile, sanitaryware and machinery houses. The layout leads with a hero product display — a feature wall, slab or bathroom vignette — and keeps a specification area for the buyer conversation. Corner and island positions, well lit, help a brand stand out on a visually competitive floor.
Whatever the size, we present and light the product to show finish and colour truthfully, because well-presented ceramics on a clean stand are the quality signal a buyer reads before any conversation starts.
Getting into the HEC: build-up timing
The Helipad Exhibition Centre runs a tight build-up and access schedule, and services book up early. We confirm your build slot, order power and any machinery-demo load through the official contractor before the deadline, plan floor loading and safe mounting for heavy product and slabs, and time the short Mumbai-to-Gandhinagar freight so the stand lands inside its access window — finished and ready for the first buyer.
Because the Gandhinagar leg is one of the shorter freights from Mumbai, we can also accommodate later design refinements than a far-NCR build would allow.
Reusing your stand between editions
Ceramics brands exhibit at Indian Ceramics Asia, the regional tile and building-material circuit and ACETECH across the year, so a modular reusable stand with re-deployable display is strong value. We store the core in Mumbai, refresh graphics and product display for each edition, and keep your contractor orders on file — so the next show is a refresh, not a rebuild.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- Flat lighting that hides the colour and finish a ceramics buyer is assessing.
- Under-planning floor loading or support for heavy tiles, slabs and sanitaryware.
- No specification area where distributors and architects can examine finishes and talk ranges.
- Generic 'ceramics' messaging that hides your product range, sizes and capacity.
Getting Started
Send your stand size, your hall and stand number once the organiser has issued it, and a short note on what will physically happen on the stand. You get a 3D design and an itemised all-in quote, at no charge and with no obligation.
