A Guide to LED Expo for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon: the rules that shape your stand
The BEC (NESCO) is Mumbai's principal venue — a multi-hall complex on the Western Express Highway with its own access and marshalling discipline. Hall heights and column grids vary by hall, so we design to the specific hall rather than a generic assumption.
A lighting stand is, by nature, power- and heat-aware: many lit fixtures draw real load and generate heat, and effective display often needs controlled or darker zones to show light quality. So we calculate and order power through the official electrical contractor against a declared load early — late orders attract peak-build surcharges — and design display zones that control ambient light and manage heat. All materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in, finishing is completed off-site, and two-storey builds need a structural-stability certificate from a licensed engineer.
The home-ground advantage is real: our workshop is minutes from the BEC, so there is no long road freight, crating is shorter, and we can react fast during build-up — a genuine cost and reliability edge, and useful when many fixtures need to be installed, wired and tuned to look their best.
What a winning lighting stand needs
The stands that win specifications at LED Expo make the light look its best. We design controlled display zones that show lit fixtures cleanly, manage ambient light and glare so colour and beam read truthfully, and demonstrate effects — colour temperature, rendering, dimming and smart control — with a clean, well-organised display of the range and a meeting area for the specification conversation. The light quality is the argument, so we give it the controlled conditions it needs.
We keep the message specific to your application — architectural, retail, industrial, outdoor, smart — because a lighting designer and an electrical distributor assess differently, and a precise, beautifully demonstrated lighting offer lands far harder than a general 'lighting solutions' one.
Designing for designers, distributors and specifiers
Buyers walk LED Expo with projects and stocking decisions, so the stand has to demonstrate light quality and then host the conversation: lit fixtures shown at their best and effects demonstrated, then a conversation about specification, performance, control, price and supply. We design the path from the lit display to that conversation, because at a specification-driven show the light quality earns the meeting and the meeting earns the project or listing.
We keep the message specific to your segment, because an architect specifying façade lighting and a distributor stocking commercial luminaires want different proof, and a precise, well-lit demonstration is found far faster than a general one.
What a LED Expo stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at LED Expo runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence, from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular build with controlled display zones and a meeting area, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium island, double-deck or experiential build. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting infrastructure, delivery within Mumbai, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor rental outside it.
What moves the number is controlled or darkened display zones, extensive lit-fixture display with the power and heat management it needs, a smart-control demo, or a double-deck lounge. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out — and because this is our home venue, you also save the freight an out-of-Mumbai builder would add.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for component and driver suppliers to 100 m²-plus islands and double-deckers for major luminaire and smart-lighting houses. The layout uses controlled display zones to show light quality where the aisle sees it, manages glare and heat, and keeps a meeting area for the specification conversation. Corner and island positions help a lit display be seen on a busy floor.
Whatever the size, we design the display conditions so the light looks its best, because on a lighting floor the quality of the light on your stand is read directly as the quality of your product.
Getting into the BEC: build-up timing
The BEC runs a tight build-up and dock schedule, and power and services book up early. We confirm your build slot, calculate and order power through the venue contractor before the deadline, plan the lit display, glare control and heat management, and — because we're local — schedule a short, reliable delivery so the stand lands and the fixtures are installed, wired and tuned to look their best in good time.
Being Mumbai-based, we can install and tune many fixtures carefully during build-up rather than against the clock a long freight would impose.
Reusing your stand between editions
Lighting brands exhibit at the Mumbai and Delhi editions of LED Expo and the regional lighting and electrical circuit across the year, so a modular reusable stand with re-deployable display and lighting infrastructure is strong value. We store the core in Mumbai, refresh graphics and the lit display for each edition, and keep your power orders on file — so the next show is a refresh, not a rebuild.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- Bright ambient light or glare that ruins how the fixtures' colour and beam read.
- Under-ordering power or ignoring heat for a fixture-heavy stand.
- A generic display that doesn't let the light quality — the whole product — show.
- No meeting area for the specification conversation.
Getting Started
Send your stand size, your hall and stand number once the organiser has issued it, and a short note on what will physically happen on the stand. You get a 3D design and an itemised all-in quote, at no charge and with no obligation.
