A Guide to Plastivision India for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon: the rules that shape your stand
The BEC (NESCO) is Mumbai's principal venue — a multi-hall complex on the Western Express Highway with its own access and marshalling discipline. For a show this large, hall heights and column grids vary, so we design to the specific hall rather than a generic assumption, and most machinery builds are full custom raw-space rather than shell scheme.
Plastics machinery is heavy, so floor loading is the first calculation: we plan machine positions, base plates and load spread to the venue's limits, and coordinate the forklift and rigging to move equipment in safely. Three-phase power and any cooling-water or compressed-air services are ordered against a declared load through the official contractor ahead of the deadline; late orders attract surcharges during a busy five-day build. All materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in, and finishing is completed off-site.
The home-ground advantage is real and substantial here: our workshop is minutes from the BEC, so there is no long road freight, crating is shorter, and we can react fast during a large, demanding build — a genuine cost and reliability edge, and especially useful when heavy machinery and the stand have to be coordinated into one access window.
What a winning plastics-machinery stand needs
The stands that win orders at Plastivision put the machine first and make the capability legible. We design a stable, well-lit platform for the machine with safe sightlines so a buyer can watch it run, clear signage on the process, output and tonnage it delivers, and a seated area to talk specification, material and after-sales support. Where a live moulding or extrusion demo runs, we design in the power, water, material handling and safety guarding it needs.
Capability has to read fast on a floor this big: a processor should grasp what the machine does and for which application before they reach you, so we give the demonstration and the technical data room rather than crowding the stand with generic plastics imagery. For materials and masterbatch brands, we design strong product and sample display with a meeting area instead.
Designing for processors, converters and mould makers
Buyers walk Plastivision with capital-equipment budgets, material sourcing lists and capacity gaps, so the stand has to qualify them fast and then talk numbers: a clear statement of the machine's process, output, tonnage and automation, then a seated conversation about throughput, material, financing and service. We design the path from the running machine to that conversation, because at a capital-purchase show the demonstration earns the meeting and the meeting earns the order.
We keep the message specific to the application — injection, blow, extrusion, recycling, moulds, materials — because a packaging converter and an automotive moulder are assessing different things, and a precise capability statement is found far faster than a general one on a hall this size.
What a Plastivision India stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at Plastivision runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence (for materials, moulds or component suppliers), from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular raw-space build with a machine platform and meeting area, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium build with multiple machines, a live demo and a hospitality area. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, delivery within Mumbai, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor space outside it.
What moves the number is machine floor loading and handling, a live demonstration with three-phase power and services, and a double-deck or large raw-space build. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out — which on a machinery show is exactly where stands get caught out — and because this is our home venue, you also save the freight an out-of-Mumbai builder would add.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for materials and component suppliers up to 100 m²-plus raw-space builds carrying several machines for major builders. The layout puts the running machine where the aisle sees it, keeps safe circulation around moving equipment, and sets a meeting area slightly back from the noise. Corner and island positions help a machine be seen and approached on a busy, order-focused floor.
Whatever the size, we light and present the machine to show its build quality, because on a capital-equipment floor the finish and presentation of the machine — and the stand around it — are part of how a buyer judges the engineering.
Getting into the BEC: build-up timing
The BEC runs a tight build-up and marshalling schedule for a five-day show this big, and power, services and handling book up early. We confirm your build slot, calculate and order three-phase power and services through the official contractor before the deadline, plan floor loading and the forklift schedule for machine move-in, and — because we're local — schedule a short, reliable delivery so the stand lands and the machines are set and commissioned in good time.
Being Mumbai-based, we can coordinate the heavy machinery and the stand into one access window and react fast to anything that shifts during a demanding build-up.
Reusing your stand between editions
Plastics brands exhibit at Plastivision, the regional plastics and packaging circuit and overseas shows across the cycle, so a modular reusable stand designed around your machine footprints is strong value. We store the core in Mumbai, refresh graphics and technical display for each edition, and keep your power, services and handling orders on file — so the next show is a refresh and a re-set of the machines, not a rebuild.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- Treating a machinery stand like a graphics stand and under-planning floor loading and power.
- Letting the machines and the stand arrive uncoordinated and lose hours on the marshalling yard.
- A live demo with no safety guarding or material handling — a hazard and a credibility risk.
- Generic plastics imagery that hides which process and output the machine actually delivers.
Getting Started
Send your stand size, your hall and stand number once the organiser has issued it, and a short note on what will physically happen on the stand. You get a 3D design and an itemised all-in quote, at no charge and with no obligation.
